Output by industry is a gross measure of the total sales of each industry sector in Perth Inner City Region. It does not measure how productive each industry sector is at producing this output - which is measured by value added.

- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($17,898 million or 14.1%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($14,977 million or 11.8%)

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 38.7% in Mining; 4.3% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services and 3.2% in Financial and Insurance Services.
The major differences between output by industries of Perth Inner City Region and Western Australia were:
