Output by industry is a gross measure of the total sales of each industry sector in Perth Inner City Region. It does not measure how productive each industry sector is at producing this output - which is measured by value added.

An analysis of the output by industry sectors in Perth Inner City Region in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:
- Mining ($24,260 million or 18.7%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($20,829 million or 16.1%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($15,376 million or 11.9%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $60,465 million in total or 46.7% of the total output by total industry in the Perth Inner City Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 37.3% in Mining; 4.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services and 3.1% in Financial and Insurance Services.
The major differences between output by industries of Perth Inner City Region and Western Australia were:
