Dominant groups
An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Perth Inner City Region in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($11,602 million or 38.0%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing ($3,775 million or 12.4%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($1,920 million or 6.3%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $17,296 million in total or 56.6% of the total imports by industry in the Perth Inner City Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 31.1% in Manufacturing; 5.9% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing and 8.6% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
The major differences between total imports by industries of Perth Inner City Region and Western Australia were:
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Mining (4.1% compared to 13.2%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Manufacturing (38.0% compared to 31.1%)
