Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the Hobart City in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:
- Public Administration and Safety (2,179 million or 26.6%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (2,096 million or 25.6%)
- Education and Training (901 million or 11.0%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 5,175 million in total or 63.2% of the total exports by industry in the the Hobart City.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Tasmania accounted for 8.6% in Public Administration and Safety; 15.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 5.1% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of the Hobart City and Tasmania were:
