Dominant groups

Analysis of the jobs held by the resident workforce in the Riverina and Murray Region in 2021shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (10,064 people or 14.1%)
  • Manufacturing (7,771 people or 10.9%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (7,424 people or 10.4%)

In combination these three industries employed 25,259 people in total or 35.3% of the total resident workforce.

In comparison, New South Wales employed 14.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 5.5% in Manufacturing and 2.0% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the resident workforce of the Riverina and Murray Region and New South Wales were:
