An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the City of Greater Geelong in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($5,149 million or 35.1%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($1,153 million or 7.9%)
- Mining ($1,069 million or 7.3%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $7,372 million in total or 50.3% of the total imports by industry in the the City of Greater Geelong.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Victoria accounted for 33.0% in Manufacturing; 8.0% in Financial and Insurance Services and 4.5% in Mining.
The major differences between total imports by industries of the City of Greater Geelong and Victoria were:
